Dr. George Bishop is visiting assistant in research at Florida State University’s Learning Systems Institute.  Prior to his arrival at Florida State, he served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Gulf Coast State College and at Niagara County Community College, and was for 17 years a member of the faculty and later the chief academic officer at D’Youville College.  Twice serving as Fulbright Professor of American Literature at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, Dr. Bishop received his Ph.D. in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and is the author of several books and articles on American writers.
