Gizem Solmaz-Ratzlaff is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Learning Systems Institute (LSI) at the Florida State University since August of 2019.
As a high honor student, she graduated from Middle East Technical University, Turkey, with a major program of Early Childhood Education. When she was a sophomore student, she did her Practical Trainee at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Germany. For three months, she had an opportunity to analyze mathematical learning and teaching processes, assess the mathematics learning process and perform performance measurement. She also visited Trinity College, Dublin, with the support of Erasmus+ Staff Mobility. After her graduation, she started to work as a Research/Teaching Assistant at TED University, Turkey. In there, she served on several research projects.
In 2021, she earned a Master of Science degree from Florida State University with a major in Early Childhood Education. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction program with a major in Mathematics Education at Florida State University. She is also getting her Measurement and Statistics Certificate.
In her free time, she likes scuba diving, discovering new places, and taking astrophotography.
