Through the Florida Inclusion Network, the FSU Learning Systems Institute collaborates with districts and schools to provide customized services and supports ensuring that all students with disabilities have the same educational, social, and future opportunities as their peers. FIN services and resources include (1) district capacity-building, (2) school-based planning, implementation, and support, (3) on-demand, web-based resources and products, and (4) family support and information.

LSI’s work in this area is guided by statewide needs identified by the Florida Department of Education, with a focus on providing effective instruction and accommodations to increase the amount of time students with disabilities spend in the general education environment, with the ultimate goal of improving the achievement of these students in all of Florida’s school districts.

Since 2000, the Learning Systems Institute has developed and disseminated high-quality technical assistance products and services for educators to support the education of students with disabilities through two major projects: the Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) and Accommodations and Modifications for Students with Disabilities. The latter has generated a range of products used by FIN, such as replicable face-to-face workshops, online courses, software, manuals, brochures, and technical assistance documents.
