The FSU InSPIRE workforce development team received formal recognition for excellence in innovative education with the Ralph Stair Prize. A crucial part of InSPIRE’s mission, Carrie Meyers and Jim Reynolds co-lead the winning workforce development team together.

The Florida Center for Research in STEM (FCR-STEM) was created by the Florida Legislature and competitively awarded to Florida State University in 2006. Housed inside the Learning Systems Institute (LSI), FCR-STEM is shaping the future of STEM education in Florida from the panhandle to the peninsula.

The HECD program ran from 2019-2025 and produced tangible results boosting both teachers and students in Lebanon.

A Fulbright Visiting Scholar grant brought Dr. Ely Djulia Katmadihardja to Florida State University, but this wasn't her first time at FSU. This fellowship represents a full circle moment for Dr. Djulia, who began working with the Learning Systems Institute at FSU in 2006. Working at FSU and with LSI has perfectly fit Dr. Djulia's goals of integrating culturally responsive pedagogy into STEM education. Dr. Djulia is home in Indonesia but has shared some highlights of her time as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar.

LSI staff featured in March's FSU Faculty and Staff Briefs

Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, an alumnus of Florida State University's Learning Systems Institute (LSI) Community College Administrators Program (CCAP) and was a visiting Fulbright Scholar at LSI, has been sworn in as the new special adviser for Local Colleges and Universities by the Commission on Higher Education in the Philippines.

More than 20,000 Florida educators have completed the Florida Department of Education's Civics Seal of Excellence course, which is hosted on a portal developed by LSI and FCR-STEM and built on the CPALMS platform.

After two weeks to submit proposals and an evaluation process, Dr. Celia Reddick, Julie Twomey and Dr. Brenda Wawire were selected for funding for their proposal “Strengthening school experiences for refugee young people, families, and their teachers in Tallahassee.”
