Learning System Institute, The World Bank And ICESCO To Host Global Education Conference In Morocco This Summer

The Learning Systems Institute (LSI) at Florida State University will co-host a global education conference in Morocco next summer. LSI will join The World Bank and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) to host the "Educators Shaping Futures: A Global Conference on Teacher Preparation and Development" conference June 23-24 in Rabat.

FSU’s Ukraine Task Force Hosted Ukrainian Delegation From Nizhyn, Ukraine

Florida State University's Ukraine Task Force (UTF) recently hosted six visitors from Nizhyn, Ukraine, affiliated with the Nizhyn Lyceum (magnet high school), a historic institution founded in the 19th century. Among the visitors were three high school students and three teachers/administrators. The students are all members of the Lyceum's Robotics Club.

Dahal's Work With Kids of Kathmandu Provided Schooling For Thousands In Nepal

For nearly fifteen years, Bhushan Dahal has been a key figure in education reform in his home country of Nepal through his work with the nonprofit organization Kids of Kathmandu. In that time, the organization has built 11 schools housing 6,000 students, which include ten computer labs, and nine libraries, furniture, and water purification system.

LSI Wins Florida Philanthropic Network Grant Supporting Math Learning In Afterschool Programs

The Florida Philanthropic Network (FPN) has awarded Florida State University’s Learning Systems Institute (LSI) a grant to implement the “Afterschool Math Success: Developing the Vision and Support” project. The grant will be implemented by LSI’s Florida Center for Research in STEM (FCR-STEM), with Carrie Meyers, LSI’s Director of STEM Outreach, serving as the Principal Investigator.
