Bhushan Dahal Selected A 2024-26 UCEA Jackson Scholar
Tallahassee, FL – Bhushan Dahal, a graduate research assistant at the Learning Systems Institute and Ph.D. student at the FSU College of Education, Health and Human Science, has been selected by the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) as a 2024-26 Jackson Scholar.
As a part of the Jackson Scholars Network, Dahal will have an exceptional opportunity to engage in formal networking, mentoring and professional development opportunities to enhance his pathway to the professoriate in educational leadership. A key feature of the Jackson Scholars Network involves mentoring by a faculty member.
“As a first-generation international student who loves academia, networking and discovery, being selected as a Jackson Scholar is truly an honor,” said Dahal. “I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to building lasting memories and connections that will shape my journey and contribute to my vision of creating a dignified community.”
As a Jackson Scholar, Dahal will attend the 38th annual UCEA Convention in Los Angeles, California, for professional development and to be honored at a recognition ceremony. The purpose of the 2024 UCEA Convention is to engage participants in discussions about research, policy, practice and preparation in the field of education with a focus on the need for and promise of leading schools and communities with justice and joy.
The Jackson Scholarship is named after Dr. Barbara L. Jackson (1928-2012), who was an exemplar as a leader, scholar and mentor in the field of educational administration for over 50 years. As a trailblazer, she influenced people, institutions and scholarly and applied research.
