PRESENTATIONS

Vilma Fuentes, Ph.D. presented three sessions at the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service (NASBGSU) in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine featuring work being conducted by the FSU Institute for Trauma and Resilience and Nicholas Mazza, Ph.D. (College of Social Work).

Vilma Fuentes, Ph.D. presented at the “Women in Law Enforcement: Role, Challenges and Prospects” International Conference held in Chișinău, Moldova. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova organized the conference.

Brenda Wawire, Ph.D., and Adrienne-Barnes-Story, Ph.D. presented “Class Size Realities: Evidence, Practice, and Pathways for Learning at Scale“ on the World Banks’ Education and Skills Ops Hub Event.

Flavia Ramos-Mattoussi, Ph.D. presented a paper and poster “Re-imagining Visual Dialogue: Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Arts-based Research Through the Fotodialogo Method,” and “Reimagining Visual Dialogue in Community Health Education: Integrating Hand-drawn and AI-generated Images in the Fotodialogo Method,” at the 20th International Technology, Education and Development Conference (INTED2026). The work was published in the INTED2026 Proceedings.

Flavia Ramos-Mattoussi had two articles published in INTEND2026 Proceedings. “Re-Imagining Visual Dialogue: Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Arts-Based Research Through the Fotodialogo Method” and “Reimagining Visual Dialogue in Community Health Education: Integrating Hand-Drawn and Ai-Generated Images in The Fotodialogo Method.”

NOTABLE

Carrie Meyers and Jim Reynolds announced eight free AI professional learning courses for Northwest Florida Gulf Coast K-12 teachers as part of the educational and workforce development arm of the FSU InSPIRE project.

Robert Hanna represented the FSU InSPIRE project at East Milton Elementary School’s STEM Night.

Vilma Fuentes, Ph.D. visited Ukraine’s Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic Vocational College of Lviv Polytechnic National University for professional communication sessions with students. 

Vilma Fuentes, Ph.D. and FSU’s Ukraine Task Force hosted IP3 co-Founder and Retired Rear Admiral Michael Hewitt on a multi-day visit to Tallahassee to explore avenues Florida State University could employ its talent and resources through joint ventures to help rebuild Ukraine.
