More Than 340 Attendees from 41 Countries Traveled to Ethiopia for Educators Shaping Futures

A year ago, the Learning Systems Institute (LSI) at Florida State University (FSU) partnered with the World Bank and UNESCO to initiate Educators Shaping Futures (ESF), a global knowledge exchange aimed at addressing the worldwide shortage of qualified teachers. Last week, the two-day event held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, drew 341 attendees from 41 countries.

Organized by the World Bank, the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University, UNESCO International Institute for Capacity Building in Africa (IICBA), and the Ministry of Education, Education to Host Educators Shaping Futures aimed to raise awareness and build coalitions for change so that teachers everywhere are prepared and supported to succeed in their crucial roles.

Egyptian Fellows From USAID Teacher Excellence Initiative Complete Fall Semester At FSU

This past semester, FSU hosted four fellows from Egypt as part of its work on the Initiative. Eman Abodahab, Zainab Elsallamy, Shimaa Ghobashi, and Hadya Soliman spent three months in Tallahassee, delving into the academic environment at FSU, expanding their knowledge, and participating in graduate-level courses.
