South African College Administrators And Officials Will Participate In Program Implemented By LSI

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announced Thursday that the Learning Systems Institute (LSI) at Florida State University (FSU) will welcome approximately 20 South African college administrators and officials to Tallahassee.

LSI Contract On Advancing Basic Education In The Philippines Activity Extended

RTI International has extended its contract with the Learning Systems Institute (LSI) at Florida State University to continue supporting the Advancing Basic Education in the Philippines activity. Specifically, the LSI team will use its extensive experience to build the research capacity of Bicol University (BU), West Visayas State University (WVSU), and Department of Education (DoE) stakeholders, focusing on early literacy.

Florida State University and the Learning Systems Institute (LSI) continued its partnership with the USAID/Lebanon Higher Education Capacity Development (HECD) Program by welcoming 18 university staff members from Lebanon to Tallahassee. The group spent five days focusing on career development programs with much of the program hosted by The Career Center at FSU.

STEP Update From Malawi

The STEP Activity aims at strengthening the capacity of Teacher Training Colleges to train teachers in early-grade instruction. This aim is aligned to the Ministry of Education’s National Reading Program (NRP), which is being implemented in Standards 1 - 4 of Malawi’s primary schools. STEP also aims at providing pathways for continuing professional development for all of Malawi’s primary teachers to excel.

​For 53 years, the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University has worked with 44 countries and received awards surpassing $750,000,000. During this time, LSI has established itself asone of the world’s leading institutes for developing and implementing innovative learning solutions. The faculty and staff’s impactful work continued this year, collaborating on International projects with educators, governments and organizations from seven countries in addition to numerous projects in the United States.
